Moving in
Coming from Mailchimp or Brevo
An afternoon, and nothing of what you built is lost. The order matters more than the effort.
14-day trial. Nothing to pay to start.
Four steps, in this order
- 1
Export your contacts
A CSV out of your current tool. Columns are recognised by their headers, and your own fields become attributes you can segment on.
- 2
Bring your blocklist too
The addresses that bounced or complained come across as a suppression list, so the people who left stay out. Most migrations forget this and pay for it in the first send.
- 3
Point your forms here
A form on your site posts straight to Lekalao, with no widget to load and the tags you already use.
- 4
Warm up, then move the volume
Start with the readers who opened something recently, widen over two to four weeks. Your domain keeps its reputation because it keeps its provider.
What changes for you
| There | Here |
|---|---|
| The price climbs with your contacts and with your sends. | You pay Lekalao for size, and your provider for sending. |
| The sending reputation is theirs, and shared. | The account, the domain and the reputation are yours, and follow you if you leave. |
| Marketing here, transactional somewhere else. | One set of contacts under both. |
| A card in dollars or euros. | CFA francs, Mobile Money. |
No provider yet?
Opening one takes an afternoon
We suggest Amazon SES, whose published rate is among the lowest per e-mail. The steps are the same with every provider; only the screens change.
- 1
Open the account
An Amazon Web Services account, and a region close to your readers: Paris is eu-west-3.
- 2
Verify your domain
SES gives you three DKIM records to add to your DNS. Lekalao then checks them every night.
- 3
Leave the sandbox
Until you ask for production access, SES only sends to addresses you verified yourself. The request is a short form.
- 4
Plug it in and test
A key limited to sending, pasted into Lekalao, then a test e-mail. A provider that has never passed its test cannot send a campaign.
Postmark, Mailgun, SendGrid, Brevo and Resend take an API key; anything else, plain SMTP. You can also send the campaigns through one provider and the receipts through another.
Fourteen days to see for yourself
Create the account, connect your provider, send your first campaign. Nothing to pay to start.
