The rules, written down
- 1A subscriber is one active address on one list. The same person on two lists counts twice; someone who unsubscribed counts for nothing.
- 2Past the subscriber limit, new addresses are refused; the ones you have keep working.
- 3Past the monthly e-mails, a campaign that would exceed it waits, rather than going out half-sent.
- 4Starter, Growth and Pro can be tried for 14 days, with no card. On day 15, if you have not paid, your team goes back to Free: nothing is deleted, and Free’s limits apply from then on.
- 5When the period you paid for ends, you have seven days to pay again. Then sending pauses. Nothing is deleted: lists, campaigns and figures wait for you.
Questions people ask first
Who actually sends the e-mails?
The provider you choose. Lekalao prepares, personalises, paces and tracks; your provider delivers and invoices you directly. You keep that account and the reputation you build on it.
Do I need a provider already?
You need one before your first send, and it can take longer than people say. Brevo has a free plan of 300 e-mails a day that asks for no card. Amazon SES is among the cheapest per e-mail, but leaving its sandbox is a review by AWS: a first answer within 96 hours, sometimes a request for more, sometimes a refusal. Start that request on the first day. Sending without a dollar card lays out the options.
I have no card in dollars. Can I still use it?
Lekalao itself, yes: you pay in your own currency, by Mobile Money. The sending is billed by your provider, in theirs. Some start on a free plan, some use a relay they already pay for locally, some their own server. The guide says what each costs in time. Lekalao does not sell the sending itself.
What happens after the 14 days?
Free is free for as long as you like, up to 1,000 subscribers. Starter, Growth and Pro can be tried for 14 days without a card. On day 15, if you have not paid, your team goes back to Free: nothing is deleted, and Free’s limits apply from then on.
Will my e-mails reach the inbox?
That depends on your domain and your list, and Lekalao gives you both halves: SPF, DKIM and DMARC checked every night, sending paced per mailbox, bounces and complaints handled, and a campaign paused before it damages you.
How do I pay?
By Mobile Money, card or bank transfer, in CFA francs, naira, shillings, euros or dollars. One payment covers the period you chose: one, three, six or twelve months. Nothing renews by itself; a reminder reaches you before the end, and you then have seven days to pay before sending pauses. Nothing is lost: lists, campaigns and statistics wait for you.
What happens to my data?
It belongs to your team: contacts, content, statistics, consent records. Export your contacts and your blocklist whenever you like, hand a person their own file, or forget them for good. How we handle it is written down: privacy, data processing agreement, subprocessors.
Does it speak my subscribers’ language?
Your e-mails can be written in any of 183 languages, one version per language, and each subscriber gets theirs. The interface, and the pages a subscriber sees around an e-mail (confirmation, unsubscribe, preferences), are in English and French.
