Lekalao and Sendy

Both send through a provider you choose rather than reselling delivery. The difference is who runs it: Sendy is software you install on your own server; Lekalao is a service. Everything said of Sendy here comes from its own site, as of October 2026.

Side by side

SendyLekalao
A licence bought once, $69, and a server you run yourself, with PHP and MySQL.A service you do not run, paid by the month or for up to twelve months, in your currency.
Sends through Amazon SES, and natively through SendGrid, Mailjet and Elastic Email.Sends through Amazon SES, Postmark, Mailgun, SendGrid, Brevo, Resend or any SMTP server.
Autoresponders: a series of e-mails sent on a schedule.Automations with seven triggers, conditions, goals and exits; and transactional e-mail by API, Laravel or SMTP.
Updates, backups and security are yours, on your server.Updates, backups and security are ours.

When Sendy is the better choice

If you have a server and someone to look after it, a licence bought once costs less over the years than any subscription, ours included. And if newsletters over SES are all you need, Sendy does exactly that.

When Lekalao is

If nobody on your team wants to run a server, its updates and its backups. If you need journeys with goals, segments on what people did, transactional e-mail, or one version per language. If you want to pay in your own currency, by Mobile Money.
